32nd Annual Bucks County Lions Club All-Star Football Classic

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of photographing this year's Lions Club All-Star Football Classic, where many of the best of Bucks County's 2006 football season were re-united in the tradition of North vs. South teams at Doylestown's War Memorial Field.

During pre-game ceremonies, the family of 1st Lt. Colby James Umbrell was given a special plaque honoring their son who was killed in action on May 3rd, 2007 while stationed in Iraq. Colby had played football for Central Bucks East High School, graduating in 1999 and also was a member of the 1999 North All-Star team.

Although this year's North team started strong with an early touchdown, the South team responded quickly and held an 18-6 lead heading into halftime. Early in the second half, South advanced their lead to 24-6, the score's widest spread in the game. The North team delivered a surge of scoring activity in the second half with two touch-downs and a field goal, narrowing South's lead to 24-23. But in the game's final minutes, South added another touchdown and extra point for a final score of 31-23.

Some photo highlights are included below, along with two PhotoShows:

The following PhotoShow represents a "photo roster" of this year's all-stars as they were introduced onto the field:

The next PhotoShow is a 108-image, 3-minute slide-show including pre-game ceremonies, game action highlights, candids and post-game awards!

Precision Goal Earns Lady Bucks a Ticket to the PIAA Spring 2007 Class AAA State Soccer Final in Hershey, PA

Although more than a few fans and spectators may have been thinking "overtime" as the clock ticked closer to the end of regulation play on Tuesday night with a 0-0 score, the Lady Bucks of Central Bucks West had a different game plan in mind. With just under 8 minutes remaining in regulation play, Laura Roberts blasted a precision shot just outside the reach of North Penn goal-keeper Gabby Pahktigian - who throughout the game had made several great saves keeping the match scoreless to that point.

Some photo highlights of the Lady Bucks' 1-0 victory over the North Penn Maidens are posted below -- along with a 100-image, 3-minute PhotoShow of the semi-final match:

The Lady Bucks will defend their 2006 state champion crown as they take on District 3's Central Dauphin in this year's PIAA Class AAA state championship match at Hersheypark Stadium on Friday, June 8th. Best of luck to the Lady Bucks!!!
