C.B. East Football Scrimmage #2 vs. Upper Dublin

On Friday August 24, Central Bucks East hosted Upper Dublin at War Memorial Field for the second scrimmage of the 2007 pre-season. The Patriot offense put together some great plays that resulted in several touchdowns, and the Patriot defense controlled their opponent's scoring attempts for much of the evening.

Some photo highlights along with a 2-minute, 70-image Photoshow are included below:

And as summer camp winds down this week, the Patriots will put the finishing touches on this season's offensive and defensive winning strategies in preparation for the season opener at War Memorial Field on Friday, August 31 vs. the Ghosts of Abington!

Zuke's first week in Doylestown, PA!!!

By popular demand, we're posting some additional photos of Zuke taken around our yard and in the house during his first week with us. Trust me... he looks much more innocent in these photos then he really is at this stage. Overall, he's quite a joy, very intelligent, and has taken quite a liking to the camera!!!

The photo below gives a great perspective of how small Zuke is right now. In just the few days he's been with us though, we can begin to see some changes taking place.

And this is a great photo showing his tiny -- and very sharp -- puppy teeth that he's so fond of using on things he shouldn't... in this case his leash. Yes... it would seem that we have some training to do!!!

You'll see in the two photos below that it didn't take Zuke too long to discover the fringe on a couple of rug runners in the house foyer. Until he's better trained, we've removed the runners to avoid temptation for now.

Introducing Zuke, our Seeing Eye Puppy!!!

Several months ago, my wife Linda and I decided we'd raise a puppy for the Seeing Eye organization, headquartered in Morristown, NJ. Well last week we received the phone call indicating that a black lab puppy named Zuke would be delivered to us on Monday, August 20th.

Zuke arrived on schedule, and he looked so precious... we just couldn't help but capture a portrait of him on his first day with us, at 8 weeks old.

We've already attended a couple of Seeing Eye monthly meetings prior to Zuke's arrival, and I can tell you he won't stay this small for long. So having an 8-week old portrait of Zuke is something we'll always treasure. And if all goes as planned, we'll have Zuke for approximately 14-18 months, after which time he'll return back to the Seeing Eye in Morristown, where he'll undergo formal training and hopefully "graduate" to become a dog guide for someone in need of his services.

Until that time, however, we'll be raising Zuke and exposing him to as many "real world" situations as we can to better prepare him for his life as a dog guide during his adult years. So you will often see Zuke when we're out photographing on location or if you're coming into the studio for a portrait or consultation!

We know going into this program that it will be difficult to "send him back" after the emotional ties of 18 months. However, I can tell you that Linda and I just attended the Seeing Eye organization's Annual Family Day in Morristown this past weekend. And witnessing some of the success stories where dog guides were matched with someone in need is nothing short of amazing. What a tremendous program!!! If you're interested in learning more about the Seeing Eye, please visit their website online at www.seeingeye.org.

Immaculate course conditions at Whitemarsh Valley provide a real treat for CB East Golfers!

Whitemarsh Valley Country Club proved to be a superb venue for this year's CB East Football Parents Club golf outing. And it's no secret why this prestigious golf course was once a regular stop on the PGA Tour as the former IVB Golf Classic. Manicured fairways and meticulous greens (guarded by strategically placed bunkers) are set within the rolling landscape of Whitemarsh Valley. It is truly a magnificent golf course and country club. And the service and staff are top-notch!

Forecast rain and thunder showers never came into play on Monday. But hazy skies, humidity and temperatures topping 90 degrees kept golfers reaching for cool refreshments on the course throughout the day. And golf carts were a very welcome way to enjoy the scenic vistas and move about the golf course during the entire afternoon!

After experiencing the scenic beauty and golfing splendor of Whitemarsh Valley, participants were treated to dinner and prizes -- topping off a wonderful day of fun and festivities.

The following slideshow set to music contains 170+ photo highlights of the day's activities, and runs just over 5 minutes. The slight pause about midway in the slideshow gives viewers a chance to walk back in time when famous pro golfers including Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus competed in the IVB Golf Classic during the 1960's and 1970's. Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, established in 1908, will celebrate it's 100th Anniversary in 2008.
