Game #1 of this season's CB East/West girls lacrosse rivalry goes to CB West in the game's final minutes.

In cold and blustery weather more reminiscent of a late-autumn football evening, the first of two scheduled East/West girls lacrosse games this season took place under the lights at War Memorial Field last night. Those in attendance couldn't have asked for a more exciting finish to a match that was largely dominated by CB West in the first half. But CB East fought back from a 9-2 half-time deficit to tie the game 9-9 leaving less than two minutes remaining on the clock. Although the Lady Patriots had 2nd-half momentum on their side, the Lady Bucks scored what became the game-winning goal during those two minutes -- sealing a 10-9 victory over their East rivals. Scarves, gloves, heavy coats and blankets were part of the evening's attire for anyone watching from the stands and the sidelines!
